Our Process:
From Concept to Custom Perfection
01
Measurements
We know custom cabinetry can sound like a big deal, but at Maple Forge we make it a smooth, enjoyable experience.
And here's the difference when you work with a custom cabinet shop like ours: we aren’t here to fit you into a pre-made box. Unlike a showroom or big-box vendor pushing ready-made cabinets, we’re more like your personal tailor, crafting something made just for you.
Think of it like shopping for a suit jacket. You could browse department stores, hoping to find the right style in your size, similar to buying prefabricated cabinets. But when you work with a custom cabinet maker, it’s like going straight to a tailor or fashion designer. We don’t have ready-made products or a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we start with high-quality hardwood and sheet goods, ask you what you want, take precise measurements, and build exactly what you envision. No showroom floors, no set catalog. We listen, we draw, and if we can put it on paper, we can bring it to life in your space.
That’s why we’ve developed a process that keeps things simple, stress-free, and fun!
We begin with the fundamentals.
Measuring your space and noting key details like utility locations (gas line, waterline, etc.). Don’t worry if measuring isn’t your thing. Just invite us over, and we’ll take care of it!

Inspiration
If you’ve got a Pinterest board, saved photos, or even a magazine clippings of your dream kitchen, we’d love to see them! This gives us a sense of your style, so we can create an initial layout that reflects your vision and gets the ball rolling.

The Fun Stuff
With the layout settled, we dive into design choices. Whether you want drawers or doors, clever pull-outs, or other custom features to make your life easier.
Then comes the style and finish, where you’ll find hundreds of options in door designs, stains, and colors. Don’t worry, we will guide you every step of the way, making it easy to create cabinets that are not only functional but truly one-of-a-kind.

Oh, and be sure to check out our design videos, where we walk you through an actual kitchen design from start to finish.
